Big Sister raises Money For Little Discoverers

Published: 14th October 2024

Seven-year-old Cynthia Waterfield from Hunstanton worked hard over the summer this year to raise money for a King’s Lynn charity, Little Discoverers, West Norfolk School for Parents.

Cynthia’s little sister, Terrianne, has been attending sessions with the local charity for two years and has worked so hard to improve her physical, communication, personal skills and more during this time. She has come on leaps and bounds and Cynthia is especially proud of her.

Cynthia decided on her own accord, that she wanted to do something to give back to the charity that had helped her sister and so she got stuck into making loom band bracelets! Cynthia then sold the bracelets in her family’s sweet shop, Thompsons Candy and Cream which is based in Hunstanton and raised an incredible £250!

On Tuesday 1st October, Cynthia and her family visited a session to proudly hand over the funds raised and to watch her little sister taking part in the group. The families were so thrilled to see Cynthia and hear of her brilliant fundraising efforts.

Kat Hunter, Team Leader says: “It’s always wonderful when someone decides to raise money for Little Discoverers, but there is something extra special about children raising money to benefit other children. Cynthia was so humble when the families and children thanked her, and we are very proud of what a wonderful big sister she is - Thank you, Cynthia!
